Throw a Sake Set
Pottery Wheel Workshop
In this focused pottery wheel workshop you’ll learn how to throw a sake bottle and matching cups using the technique of throwing off the hump.
Throwing off the hump is a classic studio technique that allows potters to create multiple small forms efficiently from a single piece of clay. In this session you’ll learn how to control proportions, improve consistency, and shape elegant small forms while making a beautiful functional set.
By the end of the workshop you’ll have created a handmade sake bottle and matching cups ready to be trimmed, glazed and fired in our studio.
